A pale field, framed with purple
The archived Madrid-labelled image is dominated by a white front, with purple concentrated at the collar, sleeve ends and lettering. Pale, shinier vertical panels add structure without introducing another strong colour. The restraint of the palette makes changes in finish and surface more noticeable.
Several chest elements sit on a central vertical line. This gives the otherwise open front a clear axis and makes the horizontal lettering below it more prominent. The collar and cuffs then frame that central composition from the edges.
Surface can carry the pattern
This reference is a reminder to look beyond printed colour. A panel may become visible because it reflects light differently from its neighbour. In photographs, lighting can exaggerate or hide that difference, so a visual observation should remain separate from a claim about the exact fabric construction.
The source labels the reference 1997/98. The season is recorded as an identification from the archive, not a certificate of authenticity. These notes refer to the stored reference image; the original illustration shown on this page is not an image of the garment.
